Karen M. Swartz
Karen Swartz is presently in her second term on the Township Committee and serves as Deputy Mayor. She and her husband Craig have lived in Chatham Township since 1990 during which time they have raised two children and maintained an active volunteer role in the community through youth sports, service organizations and St. Patrick Parish.
As a member of our local Kiwanis Club, Karen has served as Vice President, Advisor to the Chatham High School Key Club and Chair of the Benevolence Committee responsible for directing annual fundraising proceeds to our community’s most worthwhile local services, foundations and charities.
Over the years, Karen has also served in various ministries at St. Patrick Church including Finance Council, Faith Formation, Pre Cana and the Women of Mary, and has been active in Chatham United Soccer and the Chatham Baseball Club.
Karen has enjoyed a successful career in financial services spanning four decades, dating back to institutional sales and trading with the Wall Street firm of PaineWebber in the 1980’s and presently working with families and individuals as an insurance and investment counselor and retirement strategist with Cranford-based Northeast Planning Corp and Park Avenue Securities. Additionally she holds a Concierge position with RWJBarnabas Health, combining compassion with professional knowledge of medical and disability coverage for enhanced patient experience.
Karen is a native of Summit, NJ and holds a degree in Government from Bowdoin College.
